City Care enlisted the expertise of Clearwater Civil to replace both the Storm water and Foul sewer mains in the five way intersection on George street. Because this is the main street of Dunedin the obvious challenge in regards to traffic management were at the forefront.

Fulton Hogan were subcontracted in to conduct the traffic management with multiple road closures / detours in place. The project ran 24 / 7 and had many challenges mainly the amount of large live services running through the worksite this made it very difficult to shore the deep excavations needed to get below the invert of the existing mains.

With careful planning and the use of mobile shoring a safe working environment was created and the replacement of the mains was done in relative ease. All reinstatement of trenches was also done by Clearwater Civil.
